A blog also known as a web log is a chronological log of thoughts or ideas that is published on the web. A blog is typical updated daily by the author(s) containing anything from entries of commentary to description of events to just how the authors overall day went. There are several types of blogs that are typical: personal blog, corporate blog, genre blog, media type, and device.
Personal blogs are managed by a single individual and normally contain commentary from their day or upcoming events. As it relates to business professionals and industry leaders, blogs provide a collective source of free knowledge that can make finding the solution to problems much easier and for those who do blog it helps establish their credibility.
Corporate blogs are privately used for businesses to either enhance internal communication or culture within the organization or for external branding, marketing, and public relations.
Genre blogs focus on a specific subject such as politics, travel, fashion, etc. Typically genre blogs are subject-specific.
Media blogs consist of several different blog types. A vlog is a web log that consists solely of videos. A linklog consists solely of links. A web log consisting of a portfolio of sketches is called a sketchblog. A web log that is comprised of photos is known as a photolog.
